Over one thousand individuals have volunteered their expertise in WERT efforts since September 11, 2001. Volunteers are from wireless service providers, network operators, network equipment suppliers, handset manufacturers, and federal, state and local government entities. Concerned citizens and family members also play an important role.

WERT is a non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Pennsylvania.
